Cookies

This website and our virtual classroom software both use cookies to track your activities while visiting our pages.

In any of these cases, your private information is not shared.

Advertisers

In the past, we have allowed display ads on our pages. Some of these ads contained cookies. The cookies generated by these ads were collected by the company placing the ad, and we did not have access to this information nor control over how it was used.

At the present moment, there are no such ads in play. Meanwhile, we are re-examining our previous advertising practices to create stronger privacy protections.

Some of the data we ourselves collected from our viewers was shared with advertisers in an aggregated form only with no individual identification. Any new advertising practices we develop will continue to include this protection.

Registration Forms

Our site’s registration forms sometimes require you to give us contact information (such as your name, email, and postal address), financial information (such as your bank account or credit card numbers), unique identifiers (such as your birthdate), and demographic information (such as your zip code, age, or income level).

Information collected from these registration forms is used to provide you access to your purchases or to send you information about our company. Your contact information is also sometimes used to send promotional material and to get in touch with you when necessary.

You may opt-out of receiving these types of mailings; see the choice/opt-out section below.

Financial information that is collected is used to check your qualifications for registration and to better understand the aggregated population that we are serving.

Unique identifiers (such as your birthday) are collected to verify your identity and for use as account numbers in our record system.

Demographic and profile data is also collected at our site.

Again, this information is used only on an aggregate basis. We use this data to tailor your experience at our site showing you content that we think you might be interested in, and displaying the content according to your preferences.

Order Forms

Our site also uses order forms for you to request information, products, and services. We collect contact information (like your email address), financial information (like your account or credit card numbers), unique identifiers (like your birthdate), and demographic information (like your zip code, age, or income level).

Contact information from the order forms is used to ship your purchases, enable your access to our password-protected pages, or send you information about our company. Your contact information is also used to get in touch with you when necessary.

You may opt-out of receiving future mailings; see the choice/opt-out section below.

Financial information that is collected is used to check your qualifications for ordering, to bill you for products and services, and as a part of the aggregate data, we evaluate to better serve you.

Unique identifiers (such as birthdays) are collected to verify your identity or for use as account numbers in our record system.

Demographic and profile data is also collected at our site.

This information is used by us in making management and operations decisions but is shared with our staff and contractors, only on an aggregate basis. We use this data to tailor your experience at our site showing you content that we think you might be interested in, and displaying the content according to your preferences.

Surveys

Our online surveys ask you for contact information (like email address), financial information (like income level, debt level), unique identifiers (like birthdate), and demographic information (like zip code, gender, or age.).

Contact and financial information from the surveys are also used to better understand the aggregate demographics of our visitor population.

You may opt-out of receiving future mailings; see the choice/opt-out section below.

Unique identifiers (such as birthdates) are collected to verify your identity.

Demographic and profile data is also collected at our site. We use this data to tailor your experience at our site showing you content that we think you might be interested in and displaying the content according to your preferences.

Special Relationships

We have several special relationships that allow us to provide services and information we think you may find useful. These relationships include advertising and affiliates who share with us any revenue they generate from their links on our site (for example, we are an Amazon.com associate and collect 5% of all revenues generated by customers who purchase on Amazon.com from a link on our site.) We also use several services including Web page generators, free email, and other types of services or information that are actually owned by companies other than meaningfulWork.com. In general, we do now and intend to continue to cultivate special relationships with content providers, business partners, and co-branded sites that serve the identified needs of our visitors. We will collect a wide variety of information in order to determine your needs but the sharing will be limited to aggregate information only.

Instead, schedule a phone call or email message to arrange for such a sharing.

Special Guidelines Applied to Children

We care about children and understand that they have special privacy needs. Therefore, we have adopted the following privacy policy regarding children:

  1. We will NOT collect, use, or distribute to third parties personally identifiable information without prior verifiable parental consent.
  2. We will NOT give the child access to unmonitored chat rooms, message boards, email accounts, or other services that would give the child the ability to publicly post or otherwise distribute personally identifiable information without prior verifiable parental consent.
  3. When verifiable parental consent is not obtained, we will only use the online contact information (such as email) to:
    1. Respond directly to the child’s request on a one-time basis and not use that information to re-contact the child for other purposes.
    2. Request the name or online contact information of a parent for the purpose of obtaining verifiable parental consent or providing parental notification.
    3. Respond more than once directly to a specific request from a child (such as in the case where a child requests a newsletter subscription) and not used to re-contact the child for other purposes. We will use our best efforts to provide parental notification, which will include the nature and intended use as well as an opportunity for the parent to prevent the use of the information and participation in the activity.
  4. We will NOT entice the child to divulge more information than is needed to participate in any activity, game, or service.
  5. We will provide the parent a description of the specific types of personally identifiable information collected from their child upon request. We will allow the parent to refuse further use or future online collection of personally identifiable information and provide a way for a parent to obtain any personally identifiable information collected from their child.
  6. We will provide notice to children in age-appropriate terms of what personally identifiable information is to be collected.
  7. We will NOT provide any links to websites that are unsuitable for children.
  8. We will encourage children to get their parent’s permission before sharing personal information online.
