Business as Right Livelihood

Right livelihood is work that. . .

  • . . . does no harm
    • (or, at least, you can watch out for the harm it does and speak up without fear of punishment).

Right livelihood is also work where . . .

  • . . . you can work at your own pace
    • (not the pace of machines or an assembly line).

Right livelihood is also work that . . .

  • . . . makes a difference in the world,
    • . . . benefits your community and family,
      • . . . and is personally fulfilling.

Business as right livelihood is work . . .

  • . . . you create for yourself . . .
    • . . . where you are in charge . . .
      • . . . and all those factors are in play!

For coaching and consulting purposes, I divide right livelihood into two basic ways to make a living:

  • Right livelihood as employment by others or Good Work.
  • Right livelihood as self-employment or Good Business.
